Board Members



D'Anthony White

D'Anthony White is a television news reporter and native Washingtonian.  White was a general assignment news reporter for KOMU-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri, while earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri.  While at KOMU, he reported live on local events and produced health and investigative news pieces for the station's "Target 8" franchise. 

White is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and has interned for local and national news organizations.  He twice interned for WJLA-TV, Washington, DC's ABC affiliate, ABC News network and National Public Radio. 

White is no stranger to WABJ.  He was a student in the organization's Urban Journalism Workshop (UJW) in 2002 and again in 2003.  While attempting to report on his high school's apparent fire code violations for UJW White was reprimanded by the school system and suspended. 

While charting his path in the TV news industry White helps run the television section of the UJW. 


Donna Walker

Donna Walker is an experienced television Producer and Reporter.  In addition to Washington, DC, her background includes television news work in Baltimore and across the country in Dallas, Tulsa and Missouri.  She has worked on local and national broadcasts, including as Correspondent for BET News, and as Senior Producer for The Scott Report, a national newsmagazine on the Odyssey network which won several awards during her tenure. 

A long-time volunteer with WABJ's Urban Journalism Workshop (UJW) and other journalism programs, Walker has served as Director of WABJ'S Television workshop for the past seven years. She is Executive Producer of the workshop's broadcast WABJ News. She is a strong advocate of journalism education and enjoys working with youth. 

Walker is currently a freelance producer and reporter.  She is a Missouri native and graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism.  She lives in Columbia, Maryland.


Reginald W. Ragland

Reginald W. Ragland is a certified journalism educator and D.C. director of the Journalism Education Assn., a national scholastic media organization for journalism teachers.  He serves on its multicultural commission and as board liaison to professional media organizations.  He also co-chairs NABJ's High School Journalism Committee 

He is a former print reporter-photographer for mainstream and Black press outlets in Kansas City and St. Louis; a former City Hall public relations writer in Kansas City, Mo.; a retired Army public affairs officer with specializations in media relations and community outreach; and has advised middle school, college and military publications to award-winning stature.  His teaching specialties include basic newswriting and interviewing skills, leadership development and critical thinking.  He is also a summer adjunct professor at the American University and University of Iowa high school journalism camps. 

Ragland returns to the board after a three-year absence. He previously served two terms as WABJ secretary, then one as an at-large board member.  Since arriving in D.C. in 2000, as well at previous work stints, he has been an active participant in the Urban Journalism Workshops.  He's also held a variety of NABJ chapter positions from interim vice president, secretary and workshop director in Kansas City; three terms as corresponding secretary and workshop mentor-instructor in St. Louis; and co-advised the NABJ student chapter at Grambling State University.   

St. Louis-born and Wentzville, Mo.-bred, Ragland holds a bachelor of education in mass communications/journalism from the University of Central Missouri; a master's in developmental education from GSU, and is completing his educational specialist degree in counseling psychology from Louisiana Tech University. 

A master fitness trainer, he practices Bikram yoga and lives in Washington, D.C.
