Washington Association of Black Journalists
The Washington Association of Black Journalists is an organization for African-American journalists, journalism professors, public relations/communications professionals and student journalists in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. WABJ provides ongoing professional education opportunities to members and advocates for greater diversification.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to offer working journalists, public relations professionals, our colleagues in related fields and students, a source of support and recognition, a forum for networking and a clearinghouse for ongoing journalism education.
- $45 for full members: full-time working journalists
- $25 for associate members: journalism professors, and other media-related professions
- $10 for student members
